another thing for my probably never to be finished film.

So suddenly, I’ve developed an interest in Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. I’ve been a big fan of Kumeta Kouji’s works for a long time but for some reason neglected to check this out after Katteni Kaizou was canceled. I checked out the anime first and loved it, so I went and bought the first two volumes. Yes.
I wanted to make this a nice full color picture but nothing looked right so this is what was left over. blech

The pose is awfully stiff, but I’m glad how the colors came out. I’m still not very experienced at it, so I was constantly asking for advice and eyeballing a palette very slowly. I guess I mimicked Harada’s CG style a little too closely. Even so, I learned quite a bit, so it was worth it.
Here’s the version without lines.
And uh, no clothes?
I’m really jealous of Harada’s stuff; they’re so cute and sexy and really colorful. I particularly like the kunoichi from Disgaea 2 since it appears that she probably is wearing no underwear at all. Probably for mobility? I also like Rozalin; she’s got the pretty fancy costume with the cute hair style and the tsundere personality. Ugh, I should at least attempt to play Disgaea at least once more during the summer.

But a few of my friends actually have played Haunting Ground and seem to like it a lot. I picked up a little bit of the premise, though. I might pick it up one day.
I’m actually not very good with survival-horror games. Most of them have a restricting movement scheme; it’s not that I don’t like them, but it makes it easier for me to get frantic and get killed too easily. I admit I wasn’t brave enough to get through the dream sequence in Silent Hill 3. I’ve only finished the Resident Evil remake because of the grenade launcher glitch with Jill (made the game a lot less frightening) and RE4 doesn’t really count.
Speaking of RE4, I bought the Wii version the same day I drew this, so here is the edit.
Having played the first 4 hours or so of RE4 on the GCN about four times, I kind of regretted buying the Wii version. But after about 45 minutes or so of playing, I really appreciated having the inclusion of the cursor. Picking off dynamites with precision made the game so much more satisfying. My accuracy is ridiculously high, too. For 30 bucks, it’s pretty much a must-have.

Or something… (edit)
The something being a H-game…humm (edit)
Ahem.
Anyway, I’ve been drawing beatmania-related things really sparingly for some reason. The IIDX characters used to be one of my favorite things to draw, since GOLI’s design sense is pretty good and his characters always stand out; he and the staff even made some amusing backgrounds and stories for the characters. I wouldn’t think IIDX would have gone this far without the design team’s influence.
Sakura here is my 2nd favorite IIDX girl. Her story is that she was visited by a death god who mistakenly took her life, so she ends up inhabiting the body of Iroha until she is brought back by the time of IIDXRED. For some reason, all the characters backstories don’t really have anything to do with IIDX (other than they play it) and is rather about a cute relationship map.
I’m not sure why her racing outfit was ditched for the black suit that shows up in IIDX GOLD; apparently, most of the costumes that they wear come from a fashion shop called ROOTS26. Why they wear such odd clothing is kind of beyond me.

Yeah, I started Odin Sphere when it came out a month or so ago…I’m still tackling it slowing. I really do hate fighting in the Volcano (bloody bouncing magma rocks). The end of Oswald’s story is rather hard, too.
If anything, Odin Sphere is great for the story, which someone told me it’s based on the opera “Nibulengen”. It’s interesting to play through each character and see how their lives intertwine with the story with all the tragedy and resolutions. I thought Gwendolyn’s ending was rather touching, too. Though, it’d be interesting to see Gwendolyn as a housewife, which is what granted the drawing.
Here’s a more risque edit.
Now this edit is just stupid.
