damn its just me or its hot in here…
The feel I get from this is that slimes evolved on Earth to sentience after a scientific experiment with biomechanical computers went horribly wrong. The slimes were able to manipulate their own genetics, and while in the wild they were able to survive long enough with photosynthesis until they learned to produce pheromones they could use to enslave the human race.
With humanity in their iron grip, or rather, gelatinous hold, for thousands of years society continued in a cruel mockery of 70s and 80s America, where free thought was banned and humans struggled against each other for the pleasure of serving their slime masters.
However, the Slime Empire was not to last, for the ignored scientific research at their own peril, and they noticed too late an asteroid slowly heading to an impact with Earth. With no salvageable rockets after the thousands of years of slime rule, the slimes decide to go out with a bang, with massive orgies and cruel games of human sacrifice and torture taking up the time until the final impact.
As the asteroid falls, there is little work for the fallen star to do, because it lands upon an already burning Earth.
At least that’s the impression I got from this piece, how about you guys?
